Minor sting

On Sept. 21, the Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and El Segundo Police Departments conducted a minor decoy sting throughout the three cities. A decoy was sent into 18 on-sale establishments within the three cities in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages. Sixteen establishments were successful in preventing this activity and two establishments were cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. A decoy was also sent into 34 off-sale establishments within the three cities in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages. Thirty-two establishments were successful in preventing this activity and two establishments were cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. Employees working at the Chevron station on the 3600 block of Sepulveda, and Ercoles bar in downtown Manhattan Beach were cited. The city of Manhattan Beach currently has 113 bars, restaurants and retail stores which are licensed to sell alcohol.
