Police are searching for a man who walked up behind a woman at a gas station on Sepulveda Boulevard, flashed his phone camera under her skirt and fled.

“This woman has been victimized. It was hurtful for her to contact us,” said Det. Mike Allard of the Manhattan Beach Police Department. “And the crime he committed – he could be doing this to other people. Our concern is if he has done it once, the likelihood of him doing it again is pretty good.”

The incident occurred on Aug. 19 at the Chevron station on the 3600 block of North Sepulveda. Detectives are just now seeking public help in order to develop new leads in identifying the suspect, who would face charges of disorderly conduct.

“We don’t have identification on this guy, so potentially he could be a more serious criminal,” Allard said. “Just because he did this one act doesn’t mean he hasn’t committed a more serious, heinous crime – not to minimize this, because this isn’t something to be minimized. Anyone would feel pretty upset if they were violated like this.”

The man was last seen running out of the Chevron station and heading south on Sepulveda in a white Honda Accord. He was described as a black man in his mid-30s with a medium build wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans.
