The Bathroom Store had a drawing for a TOTO toilet at this year’s Palos Verdes Chamber of Commerce Annual Street Fair. The winner was Peter Mastar of Rancho Palos Verdes, pictured in the store with his family.

Attendees at the CHOA annual meeting welcomed Capt. Blaine Bolin, Sgt. Deputy Tami Bouse and Dave Rozas, heard a valuable presentation on “knock knock” bandits, drug use on the hill, learned the newest ways people are getting high using common household products and criminal statistics. For more information please feel free to call the Lomita Sheriff at 310-539-1661.

Cancer Support Community-Redondo Beach (CSC-RB), formerly The Wellness Community-South Bay Cities, hosted their 16th annual Celebrate Wellness event in June at the South Coast Botanic Garden on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. More than 600 guests were in great spirits as they sampled tasty fare from 45 restaurants, wineries and breweries that participated in the late afternoon garden party. Performing through the afternoon was the Freedom4U Band. The event generated over $100,000 in net income, which will help fund free support programs for cancer patients and their loved ones. For more information about CSC-RB’s programs call 310-376-3550 or visit their website at
