Update at 2:51 p.m.: The eastbound and westbound lanes of Rosecrans are now open. Market Place and Continental remain closed.
Traffic has been closed in both directions of Rosecrans Avenue in Manhattan Beach due to power lines down in the area of the 1700 block, according to Manhattan Beach Police, who sent out a notice around 1:29 p.m. on Monday.
Police were “looking to open up westbound traffic pretty soon,” said MBPD Community Affairs Officer Stephanie Martin around 2:05 p.m.
Martin said the cause appeared to be a construction-related issue. She added that she didn’t know if the origin of the problem was in Manhattan Beach, El Segundo or Hawthorne. ER
