Redondo Beach About Town: Property Tax, Flag Football Tryouts & Elf the Musical

City sets another high mark for property tax

Redondo Beach brought in record property tax  receipts at $30.93 million for 2021. The total continued the upward climb since the last dip from year-to-year in 2014.

City Manager Mike Witzansky noted that the increases are similar to what many coastal cities have seen as median home values increase, along with the fact that new home sales begin taxation at a newly appraised rate (after being frozen at the original time of purchase due to Proposition 13).
