The 17th Annual Rides, Rods and Relics car show takes place this Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Redondo Beach pier. The show, which is curated by retired Redondo Councilman and Fire Chief Pat Aust, takes place over the water on the horseshoe pier. 9:30 to 3 p.m.

Redondo Beach Police Beat

Redondo police reported the following activity the week of Sept. 3 — 9.

— A commercial burglary attempt in the 2800 block of Spreckels Lane, in which a backpack was left at the site containing tools and blades associated with cutting copper wire

— Commercial burglary attempt at Carl’s Jr., in the 2100 block of Artesia.

— A residential burglary at 607 South Prospect Avenue; suspect entered an unsecured parking structure and cut a padlock on a storage locker. Lost items include crystal vases and China dinnerware.

— Residential burglary at 228 Avenue D; a locked garage window was smashed and property taken including bins of collectible toys and construction tools.

— A 1997 Ford Explorer was burglarized on West Torrance Boulevard, at the Redondo Pier parking structure; cash and cigarettes taken.

— A burglary attempt was reported at 2619 Ruhland Avenue; suspect pulled on locked door handles of a 2009 Honda Odyssey.

— Cash was taken from a 2017 Ford Transit utility vehicle at Maui Teriyaki, at 2700 Marine Ave. Passenger-side window was smashed.

— A handicapped placard was stolen from a 2013 Subaru Tribeca, through open windows, while parked at Dollar Tree at 1205 Beryl Street. 

— An unlocked 2008 Smart car was burglarized at Pacific Tires, at 1001 South Pacific Coast Highway; items lost included the car battery, gear shifter and vehicle’s computer system.

— Stolen vehicles were reported at 1820 Goodman Avenue, 1815 Hawthorne Blvd. — South Bay Galleria parking structure — and 819 Harbor Drive (Bay Club parking lot), 529 Avenue G and 1701 Carver Street. Vehicles later recovered include those from Carver Street and South Bay Galleria. Also, a Yamaha motorcycle reported stolen in July at 2323 Marshallfield Lane was recovered by the Marin County Sheriff’s office. ER
