Redondo Beach Police Beat: Burglaries, vehicles stolen and recovered

 

 

Crime activity reported the week of Sept. 10 to 16:

— Commercial burglary in 1800 block of Hawthorne; door of business broken into, no loss reported.

— Residential burglary in 2700 block of Vanderbilt Lane; suspect attempted to enter residence by breaking window, no items taken. 

— Vehicle burglaries were reported in the 600 block of Maria Ave., 1600 block of Catalina Avenue,  and 1400 block of Hawthorne Blvd. On Maria, suspect removed the lock mechanism on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, taking the vehicle registration. On Catalina, suspect smashed the rear passenger window of a 2015 Kia Optima and stole a Michael Kors purse and clothing. On Hawthorne, the rear driver’s side window was smashed on a 1998 Nissan Sentra. Stolen property included a Dell laptop computer, Nintendo Switch and games, an iPad and Apple accessories. 

— Vehicles stolen included a 2020 Ford F-150 pickup from North Harbor Drive (later recovered by RBPD), a 1990 Honda Accord from the 1200 block of Beryl Street; a 2019 Ford Fusion from the 1400 block of Aviation Boulevard (recovered by LAPD); and a 2012 Hyundai Sonata from the 2400 block of Marine Avenue (recovered by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Compton Station);  a 2020 Hyundai Tucson from the 1600 block of Kingdale; and a 2020 Chevrolet Tracker from the 100 block of South Pacific Coast Highway (recovered by LAPD).

Vehicles previously reported stolen which were recovered include a 2013 Yamaha TW 200 motorcycle from the 2300 block of Marshallfield Lane, and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler from the 1300 block of Agate Street. ER
