With its eyes set on a CIF title, Redondo’s girls volleyball team continued its trek with a dismantling of San Juan Hills in the quarterfinal round Wednesday evening.

The Sea Hawks jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the first set against San Juan Hills and had little trouble winning 25-13 and then the second set 25-16.

The Stallions found some life in the third set jumping out to an 8-3 lead before Redondo regrouped to take a 10-9 advantage.

Redondo coach Tommy Chaffins is pleased with the depth of his team and was impressed when junior Lauren Osborne came off the bench to spark the Sea Hawks in their come-from-behind run.

Kami Miner led Redondo with 12 kills in the match. Jasmine Davis recorded 10 while Laila Ricks and Ava Kirunchyk posted eight and five, respectively.

Second-seeded Redondo (34-2) will travel to take on fourth-seeded Marymount (31-8) in the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 semifinals on Saturday at 6 p.m. Redondo swept Marymount earlier in the season on Aug. 30.

In Division 4, Bishop Montgomery (21-12) rebounded from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Alta Loma. The Knights will travel to face Pasadena Poly (18-5) in the semifinals on Saturday at 6 p.m.

In Division 3, South Torrance (22-14) fell to Culver City (29-2) by the score of 3-1. Culver City will host top-seeded Village Christian (32-9) in the semifinals on Saturday.

In Division 5, Vistamar (26-1) saw its season come to a close with its only loss of the season, a 3-0 sweep by host View Point (22-11).

In Division 7, Rolling Hills Prep (17-3) lost to visiting Ocean View 3-1.
