Two Redondo Beach Eagle Scouts were chosen to carry the banner for the Rose Queen and her Court, and a member of the Sea Hawk marching band led the Herald Trumpeters, who preceded the Queen’s float in the Rose Bowl Parade Jan. 1.

Eagle Scout Chris Kurbikoff is a 2021 graduate of RUHS and Eagle Scout Chris Latimore graduated in 2020.

Trumpeter Jessica Kaplan is a junior at RUHS.

Kurbikoff’s Eagle project was to install solar panels on the RUHS band shed, providing light and charging stations. Latimore’s Eagle project was to design and build four rolling storage carts to haul drums and percussion for the RUHS band.

Kurbikoff and Latimore both now attend El Camino Community College. ER
