This dance piece explores the stories of six individuals touched by mental illness, and it shows mental illness in its past, present, and hopeful future through dance. “Hired Gun: Out of the Shadows,Into the Spotlight” is a music documentary about the unsung musicians who play with or for such legends as Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne, and Katy Perry. Gone, and sorely missed
“Audrey Barrett: Available Light” is on view during the First Thursday Art Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. at Gallery 478, located at 478 W. Seventh St., San Pedro. Formerly residing in Redondo Beach, Barrett passed away recently. The show consists of black and white gelatin silver and platinum palladium prints from her archive including many artist’s proofs. They will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the City of Hope Breast Cancer Research. A public reception takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 8. Through August 25.
