Grom-O-Rama is designed to introduce kids 3 to 13 to the joys of a day at the beach. Over 50 boys and girls participated in this year’s Grom-O-Rama, held August 18 at 22nd Street in Hermosa Beach.

The boys and girls competed in events that included an obstacle course, paddling, swimming, beach and water flags, and nation ball. Team and individual points were tallied at the end to reveal who would be crowned the King and Queen of the Beach. This year, Matthew Wakefield was crowned King and Brynn Barry was crowned Queen.

The day ended with Manhattan Pizzeria pizza and an awards ceremony. Everyone, parents included, went home with a T-shirt, and a goodie bag from Spyder Surf.Grom-O-Rama was sponsored by Beach Sports and organized by South Bay Boardrider Club volunteers. Michel Cruz contributed his artistic talents and Wright Adaza photographed the day. SBBC
