The second contest in the SBBC series was held Saturday at 45th Street in Hermosa. The weatherman was predicting high winds and heavy rain, which there were. But fortunately the wind and rain didn’t arrive until  2 p.m. when the contest was nearly over.
Despite a high tide at 9:30 a.m. , contestants enjoyed head high swells with so many peaks breaking in either direction that the judges had trouble keeping an eye on everyone who was up.
