South Bay Premiere of Bella Vita Surf Film
This October 2nd at 7:00 PM, local South Bay surf film maker, Jason Baffa will be showing his latest film, Bella Vita, at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse. Baffa, whose previous surf documentaries “Singlefin:yellow” and “One California Day” are a quintessential part of surf culture, captures Palos Verdes’ Chris Del Moro’s journey through his ancestral Italian homeland as he comes immersed in the burgeoning Italian Surf Culture.
“We’ve had an amazing international festival run,” Baffa said. “I see it as a film about life as told through the eyes of surfers traveling in Italy. I’m so honored how audiences throughout the world have embraced it’s introspective themes and I’m excited to finally show it to the world.”
The cast of surfers cruising the boot with Del Moro are professional surfers Dave Rastovich, Lauren Lyndsey Hill, Conner & Parker Coffin, and Italian stand outs Alessandro Ponzanelli and Leonardo Floravanti.
“The film has a lot of heart. I see it as a fantastic Italian meal, where course after course something is served up that is better than before,” said Rastovich.
