Spotlight on Community: Peninsula Parade of Lights

On the evening of December 7, The City of Rolling Hills Estates joined neighboring cities at El Pollo Inka to commemorate the community while guests enjoyed visits with Santa Claus and a delicious South American buffet dinner. Sponsors of festivities included staffs from UCLA Health, Malaga Bank, Promenade PV, Rolling Hills Dental Group and Waste Management. The Friends of the Library float, organized by their Executive Director, Merlin David, won the 1st Place Trophy, Mayor’s Award. The Grand Marshal was the celebrated Fox sportscaster, Petros Papadakis along with Community Grand Marshal Robert Medawar of Medawar Fine Jewelers. A festive and highly anticipated parade followed with marching bands, floats, girl and boy Scout groups, dancers and classic cars, all making their way along Silver Spur Road heading east, then south to Deep Valley Drive and then continuing through the Promenade on the Peninsula to Norris Center Drive.
