The timely Pennyroyals played at the Torrance Main Library located at 3301 Torrance Blvd. The Pennyroyals bring their guitars, banjolele, harmonica, dulcimer and percussion in their story-telling musical portrayal about women’s suffrage. They saluted 27 historical women who dared to fight for their right to vote. Anne Destabelle, local PV resident and co-founder along with  eight other performers, tell the fascinating story in a fast-paced musical journey through 100 years of struggle. “We tell it with humor and joy. Men and women are both deeply moved by our stories of tragedies and victories leading to the passage of the 19th Amendment. So often, it is the men afterwards who express how little they knew of what their own mothers endured,” Destabelle said.
