Suspect in Manhattan Beach bank robbery arrested

The suspect who last month robbed a U.S. Bank in Manhattan Beach was arrested Thursday night in Culver City, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

Danny Gaudio, 55, of Harrisburg, Penn., was arrested by Culver City police around 9:24 p.m. Thursday. Manhattan Beach detectives subsequently determined Gaudio as its suspect, according to MBPD.

Gaudio is additionally suspected in recent bank robberies in Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades, according to MBPD.

On March 29 around 1 p.m., the suspect walked into the U.S. Bank located on 3300 N. Sepulveda Blvd. and held a teller at gunpoint. He walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash and, according to witnesses, fled on a red beach cruiser. The bike was later discovered in a residential area on 27th Street near Oak Avenue.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations, Santa Monica Police Department, Culver City Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department cooperated in the investigation.
