Torrance Memorial Medical Center offers free health talks

Torrance Memorial Medical Center hosts H. Elena Rodriguez, MD, OB/GYN and Cynthia Williams, MD, Endocrinology in a panel discussion, “Hot and Getting Hotter? The Health of Women in their 40s, 50s and 60s,” on Tuesday, August 10, 7:30 p.m. at Shade Hotel. This free community health education lecture is part of the center’s Miracle of Living series. Discussion will include menopause symptoms and treatment options, metabolism fluctuations, heart disease risks, memory and bone loss, diet, exercise, depression and loss of libido followed by a question and answer session. In addition, Torrance Memorial Medical Center has partnered with  HealthCare Partners Medical Group, Cancer Care Associates and the California Hematology Oncology Medical Group and formed the South Bay Survivorship Consortium to bring a wider array of support resources to those diagnosed with cancer, undergoing treatment or in remission.  The group will present “Exploring Dimensions of Your Survivorship: A Workshop for Cancer Survivors and Loved Ones,” on Tuesday, August 17 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, West Tower Auditorium, 2nd Floor, 3330 Lomita Blvd., Torrance.  Admission is free.  Seating is limited and reservations can be made by calling 310-517-4660.
