Redondo Union High School’s drama department presents The Diviners at the school auditorium on Nov. 7, 9, 14, and 15 at 7 p.m. There will also be performances on Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

rb about town (1)The Redondo Beach public library has introduced a smartphone application that allows patrons to search its catalog, place books on hold, review their accounts, scan a barcode to determine whether the book is in stock, and download eBooks and AudioBooks. Funded by Friends of the Redondo Beach Library, the app is available from both the Apple and Google app stores. For more information, visit redondo.org/library.

Fevered

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Main Library, author and award-winning journalist Linda Marsa will discuss her book “Fevered: Why a Hotter Planet Will Hurt Our Health and How We Can Save Ourselves.” The book blends narrative and cutting-edge science to explore the subject of global warming and examines the connection between climate change and disease.

This program is free and open to the public.

Miss Asia USA

Virgelia Productions, Inc. is hosting the Miss Asia USA, Mrs. Asia USA, and Mrs. Asia International Pageant at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.

Veterans Day tribute

A ceremony at the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial on Monday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. will honor dedicated members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Chamber event

The Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau is hosting a workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Redondo Beach Yacht Club in order to educate businesspeople about critical legal issues like contracts, personnel issues, trademarks, and copyright, among many others.
