Walking School Bus rolls forward in the South Bay [PHOTOS]
In honor of International Walk to School day, the Blue Zones Project coordinated with a number of Beach Citye lementary schools to kick of the Walking School Bus (WSB) program last week. The program offers local kids the option of a safe, chaperoned walk to school. More than 200 kids joined 40 volunteers to launch the programs at Hermosa View, Lincoln, Birney, Pacific, Jefferson and BerylElementary Schools.
[scrollGallery id = 487]Programs have also been launched at Robinson, Pennekamp, Grandview and American Martyrs, showing a strong commitment by the area’s schools to encourage kids to walk to school and have fun doing so.
