What appeared from the Beach Cities to be an enormous cloudbank midday Thursday prooved to be smoke from the Woolsey fire that was moving in on Point Dume, Topanga, Malibu and other small, beach communities on the north end of the Santa Monica Bay.  By evening the scope of the fire was apparent by the ring of light red that lit up the north end of the bay.
