Beach Volleyball: AVPFirst, a new youth development program, will be holding events alongside the Manhattan Beach Open. The Manhattan Beach Junior Invitational will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 11-12 at the Manhattan Beach Pier. A clinic for boys and girls will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 from 5:30-8 p.m. For more information, visit AVPFirst.com.

 

Registration is ongoing for Co-ed 4s and 6-man tournaments to be held as part of the ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball in Long Beach. The Co-ed 4s takes place Friday, Aug. 21 and costs $250 per team (8 player max). The 6-man Open (single gender) and College Co-ed 6-man tournaments will be held Saturday, Aug. 22. The CBVA/ROX Youth Tour will hold the last of 10 stops on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22-23 in Hermosa Beach. The event features boys and girls 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U divisions. Cost is $45 per team. The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) will hold the final event of the season when it hosts the California Co-ed Open on Sunday, Aug. 30 at Dockweiler Beach. Competition features 12U/14U/16U and18U divisions. For more information, visit aaubeach.org.

 

Indoor Volleyball: In preparation for its high school club tryouts, Surfside Volleyball Club will be holding a clinic for players in the 15s – 18s divisions on Monday, Aug. 17 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Spectrum Athletic Club, 2250 Park Pl., El Segundo. Triathlon: Registration is open for the Day at the Beach Triathlon to be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 in Hermosa Beach. The event includes a ÂĽ mile ocean swim, 10 mile bike and 3 mile run.
