City Hall to close for fumigation
Hermosa Beach City Hall will close for four days later this week as the building is tented and treated for termites.
The closure will be in effect from Friday, May 20, through Monday, May 23, according to a statement from the city.
In addition to regular police and fire staffing, limited city services will be available during the closure. The maintenance division of the Public Works Department will operate. Operating just to the west of City Hall on Bard Street, the Community Development Department will be available for submitting plans and providing some permits, and a cashier will be open to accept payments.
Building inspections scheduled during the closure will take place as planned. And traffic citations due by May 23 can be paid by the next day without a penalty.
The City Hall building is more than 50 years old, and infestations are common in such structures, the statement said.
Schools Meeting
A community information meeting about school facilities will be held in the Hermosa Beach City Council chambers next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
