Coming off a share of its 10th consecutive Bay League championship, Mira Costa’s boys golf team placed third in the CIF Southern Section Team Divisional playoffs, qualifying Coach Bob Timberlake’s team for a spot in the finals beginning Thursday at Mission Lakes Golf Course.
Los Alamitos took top honors with a score of 388 followed by Brea (398) and Mira Costa (401). The Mustangs were led by David Kim, who shot a 4-over-par 76. James Houston shot 79, JP Harper finished at 80, Lorenzo Gillenwater had an 81 and JJ Standsburry shot an 80 on the course at Lakewood Country Club. ER
