Veterans Day ceremony

The City of Manhattan Beach’s 26th Annual Veteran’s Day ceremony takes place at Veteran’s Parkway, at Valley and Ardmore, 11 a.m. on Saturday. The event features opening music provided by the Manhattan Beach Middle School Choir, presentations by members of Boy Scout Troop 849, and a keynote address delivered by Chief Master Sergeant Sylvester “Wes” Lawrence, Senior Enlisted Leader, 61st Security Forces Squadron, Space Base Delta 3.

Begg Pool public input

A Begg Pool Open House takes place November 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Manhattan Heights Community Center (1600 Manhattan Beach Avenue). City staff will be taking public input for possible future improvements to Begg Pool. An online survey is also available on the City’s website in the Parks & Rec section.

Pier Lighting and Holiday Open House

The annual Pier Lighting and Holiday Open House occurs November 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. in downtown Manhattan Beach. Manhattan Beach Middle School and Mira Costa High School choirs will perform from 6 to 7 prior to the official lighting at 7, and, as always, all downtown merchants will be open. Santa will be available for photo ops at Metlox Plaza, and carolers will be strolling and singing throughout the night.
