Happy Hour with History, HB Museum
Music of the Biltmore with presenter Mark Shoemaker, and a performance by the El Segundo Brass Ensemble. The 7-story building best known as the Biltmore Hotel of Hermosa changed hands many times over its 45-year history from 1924 to 1969, but its music halls remained in near constant use. Rajiv Joseph’s King James, Little Fish Theatre

Sports luncheon, HT Tavern
Former USC quarterback John Mazur and Palos Verdes High football coach Guy Gardner will be the South Bay Athletic Club luncheon speakers. The SBAC meets at the H.T. Grill, 1701 S. Lymphatic Health and Wellness Essentials

Surf Responder & Ocean Safety, Hemosa
Through Sunday, September 21. Greg Long (Big Wave Tour World Champion) and his Big Wave Risk Assessment Group are the best in the business. They tour the world educating surfers and Watermen and Water-Women on how to make a positive difference when things go wrong in the lineup. South Bay Boardriders is hosting the event to teach our local surfers how to stay safe and help on another when an emergency happens. Coastal Cleanup Day, Manhattan Beach
Join the Roundhouse Aquarium and dozens of other like-minded organizations as they come together for California’s largest beach and waterway cleanup event. Join the Trashure Hunt! This year, California Coastal Cleanup Day will become the world’s largest scavenger hunt. Special “trash” items will be hidden at cleanup sites all across the state. Coastal Cleanup Day is an international day of action to protect our oceans, watersheds, and wildlife from trash and plastic pollution. Docents with Los Serenos de Point Vicente will be meeting at Founders Park this year and cleaning up the Rancho Palos Verdes Beach and Ocean Trails Reserve. Wilderness Park Restoration
Volunteers are needed to help watering native trees, hand watering plants, managing hoses, weeding, digging, planting and spreading mulch. Volunteer shifts are offered every other Sunday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., 12 – 2 p.m. and every Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. come prepared with clothes that can get dirty and wet, closed-toe shoes (boots), sunscreen, water and snacks.
