TOWN HALL MEETING

Concerned about sharks, riptides, sea lions, or general ocean safety? A town hall meeting with local police, fire, lifeguard, and ocean experts will cover all of that and more.
The meeting, titled “Ocean and Beach Safety: Everything You Need to Know,” will be led by Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell. Panelists will give information on keeping safe at the beach, discuss shark and sea lion behavior and safety, and show a just-released ocean rescue video at 6:30 p.m., Manhattan Beach Fire Department Station #1, 400 15th Street, Manhattan Beach. SENIOR WORKOUT

Energize your body. Have fun, move to music through exercise designed to increase muscle strength, endurance, range of motion, bone density, and body awareness. Class is taught with chairs for seated and standing support using hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and balls. Every Friday from 1:15 – 2:15 p.m., and Mondays 5 – 6 p.m. at Hermosa Five-O Senior Activity Center Multipurpose Room, 710 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach. Wheelchairs and walkers are invited.
