Holiday Festival is a holiday tradition at Torrance Memorial and a true cornerstone in fundraising efforts. This signature event is vital in helping Torrance achieve high quality medical services for all residents of the South Bay. Everyone can enjoy the Torrance Memorial Holiday Festival, which accommodates children and seniors alike. This year, they have Senior and Accessibility Needs Days. All seniors and groups with accessibility needs can experience the Holiday Festival free of charge on December 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Holiday Stroll, Riviera Village

Shop and enjoy refreshments at local stores, and have photos taken with Santa and the Grinch. 5 – 9 p.m. More information visit rivieravillage.net

Karaoke Holiday Party, Hermosa Museum

North Manhattan Beach Holiday Stroll

Highland Avenue between 32nd Street and Rosecrans Avenue will be bustling with carolers and shoppers in ugly holiday sweaters. Have dinner, then visit the many merchants offering unique gifts, discounts, sampling and libations. Kids can meet Santa, and enjoy the petting zoo, photo booth, and face painting. 5 – 9 p.m. 

Joy Around the World, El Segundo

Celebrate global holiday traditions at El Segundo’s Joy Around the World: Festival of Holidays and Tree Lighting. This free, family-friendly event brings together Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Featuring live music, cultural performances, a kids’ train, and craft-making. Dine in restaurants and at food trucks and shop for unique gifts at the holiday marketplace. City Hall Plaza and the 300 block of Main Street. Santa arrives after 3 p.m. for photos. Limited “fast pass” wristbands available to El Segundo residents. The highlight of the evening is the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

Building Resilience – via Zoom

Cancer Support Community South Bay free workshop led by Aimee Sax, MSW. Saxophonist Brandon Muhawi draws from his deeply varied cultural background in his compositions. Christmas tree lighting, Sonesta Hotel

Kick off the holiday season in style with a magical evening. Enjoying carolers, holiday cookies, hot cocoa or a glass of bubbly, prior to the tree lighting. 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Sonesta Redondo Beach, 300 N. Harbor Drive. Free. All are welcome. 

PV Peninsula Tree lighting

Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting ceremony. Also enjoy an outdoor roller rink. Holiday pop-up shops, live holiday music, bouncy rooms for kids, winter crafts, food trucks, and a cocoa and coffee bar. Roller skating $7 for residents, $10 for non-residents, skates included. The roller rink will be open on December 7 and 8 for more holiday fun. Sports luncheon with ECC offense, defense

El Camino College coordinators Tim Kaub (offense) and Matt Kirk (defense) will be the featured speakers during the South Bay Athletic Club (SBAC) luncheon at the H.T. Grill, 1701 St. Catalina Ave., Redondo Beach. The event, which starts at noon, is open to the public. Kaub and Kirk will review the Warriors season as well as answer questions, such as explaining what goes on on their side of the field during games. Lunch is $30.

Sandpipers Holiday Home Tour

Through Sunday, December 8. Three distinctive homes in the South Bay — Down Under the Bubble, Modern Vista, Contemporary Coastal Retreat. Each home is magnificently decorated for the holidays by local designers and florists. Fri. and Sat. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sun. 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Holiday Market features gifts, food and beverages will be available for purchase. Eva & The Vagabond Tales

Through Saturday, December 7. Eva & the Vagabond Tales is led by singer-songwriter Eva Mikhailovna. The songs combine Eastern European folk, vintage pop and ragtime into a musical melting pot, creating an alluring sound that “transcends time and continents.” Building its sound from the foundations of old time music and melancholy storytelling, it bends the laws of traditional songwriting to become a sound all its own. 7 p.m. Nakano Theatre, 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance. Sand Snowman Contest, Hermosa Beach

The weatherman says it’s nothing but sand! Bring your shovels, scarves and mittens because in Hermosa Beach, we make SANDSNOWMEN! The City of Hermosa Beach brings back this unique holiday tradition that is open to all ages and abilities. Come early and mark your spot for the best Sand Snowman! Prizes will be awarded for Hermosa Beach favorite, most unique, most traditional, best dressed, and funniest. Registration begins Saturday, December 7 at 9 a.m. and judging will start at 11:15 a.m. at 15th Street and the Shoreline. 

Local Love Weekend, Downtown Manhattan Beach

Shop through Sunday at Downtown Manhattan Beach’s charming boutiques, perfect for finding unique holiday treasures. 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Highland Ave., Manhattan Ave., and Manhattan Beach Blvd. Santa & Rudolph will be strolling through downtown from 12 – 2 p.m. You can snap some pictures with Santa and Rudolph as they roam the streets, accompanied by live music and enchanting snowfall. 

Family Holiday Crafts Nights, Manhattan Heights

Saturday, December 7, 4 – 6 p.m. and Sunday December 8, 9 – 11 a.m. Get in the holiday spirit by making handmade crafts and ornaments with the whole family during our 38th Annual Holiday Crafts Night. Book Signing and story telling

With author and four-time Emmy Nominee, Debbie Gendler. Debbie fell for The Beatles in late 1963 and found herself in the audience for their first US TV appearance on Ed Sullivan. Cancer Support Community South Bay free workshop led by Dianne Staso, a registered dietitian. Participants will learn ways to lighten up holiday gatherings with healthy recipes that don’t skimp on flavor. Staso will make a pomegranate pumpkin seed chicken salad, a creamy yogurt-based spinach artichoke dip, and a few other fun seasonal recipes. 12 – 1:30 p.m. 2601 Airport Drive, Suite 100, Torrance. Cancer Support Community South Bay free workshop led by Eloisa Macri Raho, MA, AMFT.
