Beach volleyball players move up in CBVA rankings

Former Palos Verdes High School and Stanford standout Cole Fiers teamed with Colton Cowell of Kula, Hawaii to win the CBVA $1,500 Michelob Ultra Men’s Open championship Sunday in Hermosa Beach.
China’s Shu Hui Wen and Xia Xin Yi captured the Women’s Open crown defeating Manhattan Beach’s Corinne Quiggle and Madalyn Roh.
Earning their B ranking by winning the Men’s Unrated tournament were David Marquez and Jeremy Rhone while Cameron McCullough and Troy Oliveira moved into the A group by winning the Men’s B tournament.
McKayla Ferris and Nikki Leonard earned their AA ranking winning the Women’s A competition.
Coed winners included Nicolas Barron/Madeline Williams (AAA) and Patric Areyan/Marisa Teng (A).
