Hermosa Valley open house
Hermosa Valley School hosts an open house tonight for parents and children, beginning with a book fair at 5 p.m. A Young at Art exhibit by both Valley and View students begins at 5:30 p.m. Classroom open houses begin at 6:30. As a fundraiser, Young at Art will be selling pizzas, burritos, drinks, and popsicles.
Fiesta for Five-O
The Hermosa Five-O Senior Activity Center will host an open house and anniversary celebration this Thursday afternoon. The event begins at 5 p.m. with introductions from instructors from the center’s programs and will be followed by food, entertainment and a social hour. The senior activity center is located inside the Community Center at 710 Pier Avenue.
Community Safety Fair
The Hermosa Beach Police Department will host the Community Safety Fair this Saturday morning. The event will feature demonstrations from the county fire department’s Hazardous Materials team, the American Red Cross, and the “Shakey Quakey” earthquake simulator, as well as lessons in pet CPR. The event includes a raffle, free food. The event will be held on the Community Center lawn, and runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Car seat installation inspections from the California Highway Patrol will also be available with prior registration.
