It’s not who, anymore, it’s Huey on 36th District ballot

Craig Huey told the Republican Party Lincoln Club in April that he was prepared to spend $800,00 on the primary to pay for 10 mailers. Photo
Democrat Janice Hahn, a Los Angeles City Councilwoman from San Pedro, finished first on election night. Under California’s new open primary law, the top two finishers, regardless of party affiliation, advance to the general election.
The seat was vacated in February by Democrat Jane Harman, who resigned to head a Washington think tank.
On Thursday, Bowen conceded the second spot on the ballot to Huey. With most of the late ballots counted, Huey’s lead over Bowen had grown to over 700 votes.
Huey contributed $500,000 to his campaign. He is president of JudgeVotersGuide.com, LAvoterGuide.com and ElectionForum.org. LAvoter serves conservative voters and Election Forum serves religious voters, Huey told members Los Angeles County Lincoln Club during a debate in April with five fellow Republican candidates.
