Manhattan Beach About Town

Letter writer

Long time Manhattan Beach resident Charles Reilly, who recently published a book containing more than 150 of his letters to the Los Angeles Times, will hold a reading and signing event Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at Pages bookstore in Manhattan Beach.

Reilly, who previously published two novels, “Shenanigan” and “Through a Dark Passage,” will do a short reading and then conduct a Question and Answer session. In his book Reilly frequently challenges what he says is the liberal slant of the Times, which he says has seeped from the editorial page into the arts and news section, and even onto the sports pages. Food and drink will be served on the bookstore’s patio.
