Manhattan Beach Police Beat

Construction burglary nabbed

The Manhattan Beach Police Department this week arrested two men believed to be responsible for a string of construction site burglaries in recent months.

According to MBPD, during the months of August and September 2019, a series of construction site burglaries occurred throughout the city. Through video surveillance, MBPD detectives were able to identify two male suspects and their truck.

On Sept. 7, the men were arrested after allegedly committing another construction site burglary. The suspects were identified as Carlos Alfredo Rauda of Inglewood and Javier Campos of Los Angeles. The suspect truck was painted blue but the suspects recently changed the color to grey, police said.

According to MBPD, a significant amount of stolen property was recovered. Anyone who has been a victim of a construction site burglary or who may have any additional information about the suspects is asked to contact Detective Derek San Agustin at 310-802-5133.
