Vitality City's Walking Moais begin this week in the three beach cities.
Walking Moai events begin for beach cities residents at all 13 elementary schools Monday, April 25, and Tuesday, April 26! Moai, which means meeting for a common purpose, originated in Okinawa, Japan, as a way for villagers to support each other emotionally in times of need. The Vitality City initiative hopes to expand the traditional definition of Moai to walking, volunteering or simply being active while making new friends, and is one of the cornerstone programs that will help to transform the Beach Cities into a Vitality City.
