One injured in Redondo Beach officer-involved shooting

One person was wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Redondo Beach this afternoon.

At about 4:11 p.m., Redondo Beach police responded to a call about a man with a gun near the 2500 block of Gates Avenue; en route, they learned that the subject was shooting at another person in the area.

Officers arrived on scene and encountered the suspect, which led to the shooting.

The suspect was treated at the scene for multiple injuries and transported to the hospital.

According to an RBPD press release, the extent of injuries to the suspect is unknown at this time, and it is not known if anyone else at the scene is injured. No RBPD officers have been reported injured.
