
Despite losing to rival Mira Costa to finish the regular season, Redondo’s girls volleyball team retained its No. 1 spot in final poll and will enter the playoffs as the top seed in CIF-Southern Section Division 1AA.
Defending CIF and State champion Redondo (28-3) will host LaSalle (15-8) in the first round on Tuesday. All matches with the exception of the final round will start at 7 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon.
Bay League co-champion Mira Costa (25-5) moved up one spot after its win at Redondo last Tuesday and the third-seeded Mustangs will host Woodbridge (14-12) in the opening round.
Peninsula (17-10) is the Bay League’s third representative and will play at No. 7 Edison (19-9) on Tuesday while Del Rey champion Bishop Montgomery (18-8) hosts Orange Lutheran (22-9).
In Division 2AA, Prep League champion Chadwick (20-3) earned the second seed and a first-round bye. The Dolphins will host the winner between North Torrance (7-8) and host Monrovia (18-10) in the second round on Thursday, Nov. 12.
Pioneer champion South Torrance (19-12) is ranked sixth and will host Pasadena Poly (7-9) on Tuesday. West Torrance (18-18) host No. 7 Westridge (21-6) in the first round.
In Division 3AA, Ocean runner-up El Segundo (13-8) hosts Rialto (15-8).
Coastal champion Vistamar (19-2) earned the third seed in Division 4AA and will host Providence/Burbank (18-9-1) on Tuesday.
