Roger Clinton arrested in Redondo Beach on suspicion of DUI

Roger Clinton, brother of President Bill Clinton, was arrested in Redondo Beach yesterday on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, a citizen called police around round 7:20 p.m. on June 5 to report a possible drunk driver headed south on Pacific Coast Highway, and stayed on the line to follow the driver and provide updates.

Police caught up with the driver, pulling him over near the intersection of Torrance Boulevard and South Prospect Avenue.

Clinton, 56, of Torrance, was identified as the driver of the vehicle, was administered field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest. He was taken to the Redondo Beach jail, where he allegedly refused chemical testing, asked to speak with his OVI lawyer, and was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.

President Bill Clinton was in the South Bay this weekend, stumping for Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, June 4.

Update, 9:40 a.m. Roger Clinton posted bail and been released from the custody of the Redondo Beach Police Department.  He is scheduled to appear in Torrance court on September 2, 2016.
