Antiques

The 51st Annual Palos Verdes Antiques Show and Sale at Saint Francis Episcopal Church. The popular 3-day event features top dealers from Northern and Southern California and Arizona —who will display and sell a dazzling array of 18th, 19th and early 20th Century furniture, silver, prints, jewelry, china, pottery, rugs, Asian antiques, vintage Americana and more. Harvest Cupboard will be there with tasty homemade offerings; Garden Gazebo with plants and ornaments, Patio Luncheons, English Afternoon Tea and Evening Wine and Cheese. Used books

Books are priced mostly at $1 or less, in all categories plus children’s books, textbooks, DVDs and CDs. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Manhattan Beach Library, 1320 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach. Donations of books are accepted at the front desk of the library.

Epipalooza

Five local teen bands, a silent auction, and raffle. This benefit will be raising funds to help find a cure for Epilepsy. 3 – 8 p.m. The Lighthouse Cafe, 30 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach. At the conclusion of the event, MCEE will be presenting the national branch of End Epilepsy with a check with all monies raised throughout the year and the auction. Manhattan PD, Fire open house

Manhattan Beach Police and Fire Departments Open House 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Showcasing the services and equipment, as well as officers and firefighters who provide public safety and emergency response to our community. Including the SWAT Team, Motor/Traffic Officers, Parking and Animal Control Officers, K-9 Team, Firefighters/Paramedics, as well as volunteers who support Neighborhood Watch, Victim Assistance Team, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Police Explorers and the Police Support Volunteers program. The Fire Bay will be open and there will be guided tours of the jail. Giveaways for the kids and lots of photo opportunities with a fire truck, police motorcycle or SUV with your favorite police officer or firefighter. Mindfulness Drop-in

Take 30 minutes to downshift and practice mindfulness techniques the first Wednesday of each month at Beach Cities Health District from 5:30 – 6 p.m. The sessions will be led by trained staff. Zumba

Beach Cities Health District free summer Fitness Series. Zumba in the Park. Free community event brings together friends, family, fitness and fun. Wear comfortable shoes and athletic clothing.
