Trashmageddon

Join Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Educators and volunteers and help pick up trash after the July 4th holiday. There is always a ton of trash on the beach and they need help! Free. Donate

While thousands of blood donors have answered the call to fill the Missing Types, more donors are needed now to help ensure patients don’t have to wait for blood products. Mini-train rides

Southern California Live Steamers Mini-Train public run day. The mini-train rides have become a popular feature of Wilson Park. Originally, free train rides were offered once a month on the first Sunday of each month. Today, SCLS provides free train rides twice a month on the first Sunday and third Saturday of each month, and on special occasions. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wilson Park, 2290 Washington Ave., Torrance. Concert in the park

The PettyBreakers is the nation’s premier “Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers” tribute act. The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the public to stop in for Fun in the Sun from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. at various parks. Located on the legendary Hermosa Beach Pier, this Farmers Market makes for a quintessential Southern California day. Organic and exotic fruits, seasonal vegetables, and nuts. Specialty food items like baked breads, gourmet olive oil and balsamic varieties, elaborate vegan meals to go, fermented tempeh and kimchi, to food stands that serve Jamaican style meats and seafood and Salvadoran Pupusas. Free yoga

Donation-based yoga with Kira Algers is open to all levels. Kira’s yoga class is inside the Hermosa Beach Farmers’ Market by the Pier. Open to all ages and experience levels. Shakespeare by the sea

Shakespeare’s most patriotic and inspiring play tells of a young King Henry V who seeks to unite his beloved England. After laying claim to French lands and being ridiculed, Henry marches off to war. Although sorely outnumbered, Henry rallies his troops and, at Agincourt, achieves a decisive victory. 7 p.m. Free and open to the public. All seating is first come, first served. Mindfulness Drop-in

Take 30 minutes to downshift and practice mindfulness techniques. 5:30 – 6 p.m. The July Mindfulness Drop-in will be held July 10 due to the 4th of July holiday.
