Spotlight on the Hill – Grand Salon benefits Los Angeles Philharmonic
The Grand Salon spring fundraising event was a lush affair, hosted by Carolyn and Julian Elliott at their Palos Verdes oceanfront estate overlooking Lunada Bay.  An AMUSE guitar quartet greeted guests outside and a Palos Verdes High School string trio greeted guests inside. Gourmet food was served by local restaurants, including Chez Melange, Mar’sels, Ortega 120 and Rock and Brews. The auction committee put together a luxurious array of silent auction items, which tantalized guests while they sipped fine wines amidst a backdrop of music and sea breezes. The featured program for the evening included piano concertos performed by Joanne Pierce Martin from the works of Godard, Borne and Muczynski. Catherine Ransom Karoly accompanied Martin on flute. The Peninsula Committee was founded in 1952. It supports the Los Angeles Philharmonic through fundraising and audience development and also promotes youth music education and fosters appreciation of music in the community.
