The Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce honored Diana Heffernan Schrader as Citizen of the Year for 2018 at Terranea Resort. In a moving speech, Shrader emphasized how community is our lifeline and we should not wait for a Woolsey fire tragedy to band together and help each other. Chamber CEO Eileen Hupp welcomed guests, followed by Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Susan Brooks leading the flag salute and Peninsula High student Emma Cool singing the National Anthem. Terranea Chef Bernard Ibarra prepared the farm to table cuisine, which included grass-fed beef striploin and vegetables Napoleon. Actor-producer Rossi Morreale emceed the evening and announced the Peninsula Seniors and Las Candalistas award recipients.
