The 62nd Annual Portuguese Bend National Horse Show was held at Ernie Howlett Park and
Equestrian Facility in Rolling Hills Estates on the weekend of September 6. The show is hosted by the Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital (PCCH), and this year benefitted the
Associates Endowed Chair for the Chief of the Children’s Orthopaedic Center and The Associates Chair in Liver and Intestinal Research. The A-rated Horse Show had two fully scheduled rings offering a wide variety of classes that challenged some of the West Coast’s finest riders. The weekend’s activities included food booths, boutiques and children’s activities. On Saturday evening, over 500 guests enjoyed the annual Saturday Night Supper, featuring classic BBQ fare from The Original Red Onion restaurant and musical entertainment by Boomer
McClennan and the Rhythm Rangers. PCCH’s 170 family members have raised more than $16 million Children’s Hospital through its horse show, golf tournament, and member contributions.
