Police recognize good drivers when that’s what data shows

by Garth MeyerJust 6.5 percent of 13,366 drivers exceeded the 25 mph speed limit on the 400 block of Pearl Street between Aug. 9 through 16, according to Redondo Beach Police Captain Jeff Mendence.The data was gathered by a police trailer radar, which displays the speeds of oncoming cars.The average, according to Captain Mendence, was 22.6 mph.The data is compiled weekly, but not used to track down speeders."We thought, why aren't we sharing this information better?"
