PV-Based Robotics Team Earns Top Honors
Local community 9-person robotics team, Jetstream 2710, went up against top high school teams across LA this past weekend and made it to the semifinals, earning the coveted Design Innovation Award, a top award for computer-assisted design and implementation.
Based out of Rolling Robots up at the top of the hill in PV, this can-do team of teens in grades 8-12, continues to defy odds and wow judges as they compete against teams 100-person-strong with major sponsors like JPL and NASA.
Founded in 2018 and initially operated out of a parent’s garage, the team has shifted and changed over the years as high schoolers have grown and graduated and new teens have taken their place, along with a new cohort of parent mentors and one dedicated robotics alumni who is a college student.
This past weekend’s competition was an especially sweet experience for the team who made it to the final rounds enthusiastically cheered on by their local sister teams, including the winners of the spirit award, Peninsula High’s Phantom Catz.
