Manhattan Beach police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are searching for a bank robber who escaped on a red bike after making off with an undisclosed amount of money from the U.S. Bank in Manhattan Village Friday afternoon.

Around 1 p.m. Friday, the suspect walked into the U.S. Bank located on 3300 N. Sepulveda Blvd., police said. He held a teller at gunpoint and walked out with the cash, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40s with a small build, 5-foot 6-inches to 5-foot 8-inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, with gray and white hair. At the scene, he wore glasses and a light yellow, button-down short sleeve.

Witnesses told police that the suspect fled on a red beach cruiser, which was recovered in a residential area on 27th Street near Oak Avenue late Friday afternoon.

Anyone with information is advised to call Sgt. Paul Ford at 310-802-5123.
