Manhattan Village will host an open house at the mall’s center court Friday from noon to 2 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. to solicit public input and answer questions about the proposed enhancement project. MBRA marks anniversary
All are welcome to join the Manhattan Beach Residents Association in celebrating its 25th anniversary Sunday from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the Creative Arts Center in Manhattan Beach. Refreshments and wine will be provided. MBRA, an all-volunteer organization founded in the summer of 1988, works to preserve the residential quality of neighborhoods and local businesses while increasing participation in city government.
From Open Sesame to Sesame Moe’s
Restaurateur Moe Bonakdar has officially renamed his Mediterranean eatery and is kicking off a weeklong fundraiser beginning Monday to benefit Walk With Sally, a South Bay nonprofit that supports children with families affected by cancer. Neighborhood Watch Town Hall
The Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Watch will host a community forum with the city’s police and fire departments next Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Joslyn Center. The meeting, open to all residents, will cover natural and man-made disaster preparation, and Chief of Police Eve Irvine will make a presentation about crime in the community.
Tip-a-Cop for the Special Olympics
The annual “Tip-a-Cop” event at Tin Roof Bistro in Manhattan Beach will take place next Thursday, Sep. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. Officers and personnel from the Manhattan Beach Police Department donate time for one evening to wait tables at the restaurant. All tax-deductible tips and donations collected that evening will benefit local Special Olympic athletes. Dinner reservations should be made at 310-939-0900.
