Lions All Stars Game – C’mon down to the 46th Annual Lions South Bay All Star Football Game fundraiser, 6:15 p.m. – 9 p.m., and join the Switzer Learning Center and West Torrance Lions Club at Mira Costa High School, Peck Ave. just north off of Artesia Blvd., Manhattan Beach. The Switzer Learning Center has been selected as the charitable beneficiary for the Lions South Bay All Star Football Game fundraiser hosted by the West Torrance Lions Club where kids from 26 different schools participate in this annual South Bay Tradition game. Proceeds benefit the Center’s mission to create hope and opportunity for children with severe learning, emotional, social, behavioral and developmental disabilities, such as autism, to achieve fulfilling lives. Be prepared to leave your containers if they’re contaminated! No business, industry waste accepted.

Watch the Sharks Watch You! – It’s Saturday and 12:30 p.m. and the sharks are feeding and what a frenzy, indeed at the Roundhouse! Sundays, it’s story time! Bring your kids or grandkids, or have them bring you, and listen to an ocean-themed story and do a craft at 11:30 a.m. in the Round upstairs. The Roundhouse serves as an Oceanographic Teaching Station education facility, a non profit, and while everything is free, your donations keep it going. Do chip in. HBEF Pledge Day – Today is Hermosa Beach Education Foundation Pledge Day. Show your support for our schools by making a pledge or donation to this year’s Annual Appeal. Volunteers will be at Hermosa View & Valley campuses before and after school to collect donations and pledges and answer any questions you might have about this important effort to raise money for instructional programs that are at risk of being severely cut due to budget constraints.
