Located in a big red barn on Pier Ave. in Hermosa Beach is the South Bay’s worst kept secret – Star’s Antique Market. The 7,000-square-foot building is known for their lively window displays and 60 antique-selling venders that scour the country for thousands of unique items to sell.
“We have a lot of upbeat dealers who really know the community and bring in great stuff,” co-owner Mike Molen said. “It’s always good to repurpose and recycle, and that’s a large part of what antiquing is.”
The building was once a community church and also a Mrs. Gooch’s Grocery.If you can see through the rows of antiques the choir loft is still visible and now filled with vintage handbags and clothes.
“We always have biscuits for the dogs and candy for the kids,” Molen said. “We just have a very family friendly atmosphere.”
