Chivalrous ‘Mouse Guard’ swarms Manhattan Beach

‘Hail all those who are able, any mouse can, any mouse will, but the Guard prevail’

David Petersen, writer and illustrator of the highly regarded “Mouse Guard” comic book series, will sign books, make sketches and display original artwork 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at The Comic Bug store, 1807 Manhattan Beach Blvd. (just west of Aviation Boulevard) in Manhattan Beach.

The all-ages-friendly “Mouse Guard” books, which have been translated into German, French, Portuguese, and Spanish, chronicle the exploits of mice who banded together against a weasel warlord in the winter war of 1149, and continue to serve as escorts, pathfinders, weather watchers, scouts and bodyguards for fellow animals.

The satisfying stories and rich, warm artwork have earned “Mouse Guard” a long list of comic book honors including a coveted Eisner Award.
