2014 was an epic year for Dive N’ Surf. The nation’s oldest Dive Shop celebrated a grand reopening of it remodeled store as well as the unveiling of founding twins Bill and Bob Meistrell statues at the Seaside Lagoon. The statues were sculpted by Chris Barella, who is to be inducted into the Hermosa Beach Surfer’s Walk of Fame next month.

“Dive N’ Surf has a lot of heritage starting with Bill and Bob, Dale Velzy, Bev Morgan, and Hap Jacobs opening up the first shop,” said Robbie Meistrell, CEO of Dive n’ Surf and Body Glove.

One thing that permeates Dive N’ Surf is a general love for the ocean. The shop carries the best equipment and offers surf and scuba rentals, repairs, comprehensive dive certification classes and world wide destination scuba travel packages. It has been awarded the highly prestigious 5 Star PADI Dive Center status.

“Since opening in 1953, we’ve instructed and introduced over 60,000 people to the diving lifestyle,” Meistrell said. — ES
