Manhattan Beach PoliceFour males were arrested for grand theft and conspiracy in Manhattan Beach at 3:50 a.m. on August 2, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

The police were investigating bike thefts when they pulled over a pickup truck carrying six stolen bicycles and other property, including a nebulizer.

Daniel Romero, 22, of Long Beach and Frederick Caampued, 23, Nelson Tomaneng, 21, and a 17-year-old male whose name was not released, all of Carson, were arrested for the alleged crimes. The three identified adult males are each being held for $20,000 bail.

As of Monday, one victim of the stolen bikes has been identified because he filed a police report. Officer Stephanie Martin encourages residents to file a police report for stolen items – otherwise, the belongings may never be returned. “We have bikes here and we want to find out who they belong to so we can get them back to the victims,” she said.

Detectives ask residents who have had their bike or other property stolen between August 1 and 2 to call the police at 310-802-5120.

To avoid these crimes, residents must lock their cars and close their garages and remove valuables from plain sight, Martin said. “It doesn’t help to leave computer, iPad, camera or purse on the front seat or back seat because somebody’s just going to smash the window,” she said.
